How to Rent Guide – Changed Again!

On the 9th July, the Government issued an update to the ‘How to Rent Guide’. Previously the last update was only in June of this year, in fact on the 10th June 2018!

Landlords that attended our recent Landlord & Investor Seminar on the 28th June would have been made aware of the changes and the importance in making sure you issue the correct ‘How to Rent Guide’ as it is a legal obligation under the Deregulation Act 2015 to ensure the guide is served on the tenant at the commencement of the tenancy along with other prescribed documents.

Landlords are required to be able to demonstrate that a tenant has received the ‘How to Rent Guide’ at the start of their tenancy should an issue occur in the future whereby they require to obtain possession of the property. It is recommended that you get your tenant to sign to acknowledge they have received the guide and keep this on your tenancy files for future reference should it be needed.

We have made it easy at the Leicester Property Blog as you can obtain the 9th July 2018 version by clicking below.
